The SSG has access to a number of HPC resources that can be used to speed up the different kinds of simulations and analyses our section conducts. This hands-on workshop is aimed at enabling SSGers to use the Linux Beowulf clusters and advance science in an effective manner.

What to do before your arrival

  • Make sure you have an SOPH domain account to log into the lab computer.
  • Make sure you have a cluster account to log into the head node of the cluster.
    • Register for an account by filling out a request ticket.
    • Indicate on the ticket that you would like an account for both the Cheaha and Coosa clusters.
  • Log in at least once to the cluster using ssh.
